Jessie James Harris passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at the VA Hospital. He was born in Gallion, Louisiana on November 13th, 1925 to Beatrice Wilson and Jessie Harris, Sr. He honorably served in the Military (Navy) during World War II. After leaving the military he worked many years in construction and then went on to work for the US Postal Service, where he retired in 1992, after 30 years.
He was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ whom he loved. He was a loving devoted husband, father & grand-father. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and road with Alky Angels. Although Papa has passed on to be with the Lord, he will always be with us and watching over us.
Jessie is survived by his wife Della, and four children Jarrell (Brenda) Lewis, Demetrice “Meachy” Lewis, Terrence (Heidi) Lewis, Sr., and LaJuana Lewis. Ten grandchildren; Lisaa (Undray), Terrence, Jr., Tyrell, Essence, Najarel, Ajhana, LaJhaya, Destiny, Hedia and Jayden and six great-grandchildren; Aariyel, Sir Marius, JeLynn, Lynkoln, Jaxxon & Alanaa
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings Jessie Harris, Jr and Mary Louise Harris.
Visitation will be from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Unity COGIC 8302 Renton Ave S Seattle, WA 98118. A private family burial will be at held at Tahoma National Cemetery.
