Pettis was an explosive and elusive player on Saturday September 16th. He became the NCAA’s record tying in punt returns for 8 touchdowns. In the 1st quarter Pettis name was etched in the record books with a 77 yard punt return. Pettis displayed great hands receiving with 5 receptions, 93 yards, and 3 touchdowns but with the addition of the punt return Pettis finished the record tying evening with 4 touchdowns on the day.
The Washington Huskies finished their soft non-conference schedule beating Fresno State 48-16.
The Washington Huskies will start their conference play this upcoming week at the Colorado Buffaloes. Pettis will have 9 more games to break the tying record to sit alone as the all time leader in punt returns for touchdowns.
