State of Emergency: New ADT Map Shows if You’re at Risk of a Natural Disaster

ADT Inc. (NYSE: ADT), the leading provider of monitored security and interactive home and business automation solutions in the United States and Canada, has released a declaration analysis spanning sixtyfive years of FEMA data that calculates the risk natural threats pose, across the United States.
Every year millions of people are impacted by natural emergencies like wildfires, hurricanes,
floods, snow storms, and more. In 2017 natural disaster damages cost the U.S economy a
record, $312.7 billion. The costs of recovering from these natural emergencies are sustained by
governments, businesses, and residents. Resources which could otherwise be used to improve
or develop communities. While our historical analysis can not predict what’s to come in the near
future, it does confirm the value of preparation and risk awareness.
So how can anyone escape Mother Nature’s wrath? Although natural threats are often out of our
control, awareness of risk can help prevent or reduce losses caused by natural disasters.
To find out if you’re at risk of a natural emergency, ADT has developed an interactive disaster
risk map which illustrates America’s exposure to hurricanes, fires, floods and other natural
hazards. Simply input your ZIP code and you’ll see the likelihood of every type of storm or
natural disaster ranging from hurricanes and earthquakes to wildfires and tornadoes.
With your safety in mind, ADT wants to make sure people are aware of any natural threat or

a natural disaster that most commonly occurs near their home.
