Nine new businesses will launch soon in Tacoma thanks to their participation in Spaceworks Incubator program. On Saturday, November 18th, 2017, Spaceworks invites the community to discover the creativity and vision of these entrepreneurs at Fish Tank Entrepreneur Showcase.
This Fish Tank event will be different from the others. Instead of a traditional business pitch panel, the participants will set up interactive exhibits that demonstrate their products and services, and engage visitors to ask questions. They will also present their business model in a fast, 60-second pitch. The showcase participants were accepted into Spaceworks Incubator 2017 fall training cohort and worked with coaches and mentors to refine their ideas. Fish Tank will also be a celebration of their completion of Spaceworks’ 14-week training program, which helps small businesses that have a creative or innovative approach to develop their business plans.

Presenting companies will display a range of creative services from film production, to performing arts, to made-to-measure lingerie. Although some of the participants used the program to develop innovative ideas into business plans, others entered the program with established businesses. “Spaceworks Incubator helped me zero in on what I’m really trying to accomplish with my small business, as well as identify and articulate the value I believe it’ll bring to the community,” said program participant Christina Butcher. “Being able to connect with local experts and business coaches across a wide spectrum of fields has been a huge help.”

The list of newest participants includes Creative Colloquy with Jackie Casella and Christina Butcher, Frankly Cinematics with Jason Farris and Cooper Farris, Healing Renaissance with Paulette Brown and Dominick Weems, Iconic Arts Complex with Tiffany Sanders and Jimmy Shields, Starlight Media with Konika Clemons, Love Letters Intimates with Catrina MacCalla, Pod Works with Kayla Schroader and Diana Murray, The Flavor Theater with Jonte Ausler and NyRee Ausler, Whirr and Thrum with AJ Lindner-Michaelson, as well as entrepreneurs Sarah Woodson and Stephen Gangl, Perry Petaccia and Shannon Shintani.

“Spaceworks has created opportunities for me and helped cultivate my business ideas so I can have a better economic future,” said Konika Clemons, entrepreneur behind Starlight Media. “I have been in Tacoma all my life and have not come across a more passionate, uplifting organization than Spaceworks. Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce by making this possible.”

Spaceworks Tacoma invites the public to the free event on Saturday, November 18, at 1120 Pacific Ave (second floor), 1-4pm.
