In recognition of April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month, KMS is hosting our 4th Annual Women’s Empowerment Seminar on Saturday 4/7 from 1pm to 4pm.
KMS is committed to empowering women to develop the mental and physical skills to defend themselves. In this three-hour seminar, you will learn how to have the right mindset, confident body language, verbal self-defense skills, and physical preparedness to maintain personal safety.
We are excited to team up with local non-profit, Jubilee Women’s Center! jwcenter.org.
For the past 35 years, Jubilee Women’s Center has offered Seattle-area women who are experiencing poverty and homelessness an alternative to emergency shelters. Jubilee’s transitional and longer-term housing program and on-site services give women the time and support to stabilize, heal, and make lasting positive life changes. Jubilee serves ~60 homeless women in their residential program and nearly 2,000 low-income women with free job training, referrals, life skills classes, a clothing boutique, a computer lab, and much more.
When we saw that 53% of the women that Jubilee serves are survivors of domestic abuse, we knew that the Women’s Empowerment Seminar was the perfect opportunity to raise much-needed funds for this amazing local resource.
The minimum suggested donation to participate in the Seminar is $10. 100% of the proceeds will be donated directly to Jubilee which will go towards supporting the diverse population of women who need the resources that Jubilee provides.
• The minimum age to participate is 14 yrs. If you are under 18, a parent/guardian signature is required on your waiver.
