The 43rd District Democrats invite voters to a candidate forum for City Council District 4 on Saturday June 8th, 1pm, at the University of Washington’s Husky Union Building (HUB) Room 250, 4001 E Stevens Way NE, Seattle, WA 98195.
The forum, which will be moderated by CrossCut columnist Dae Shik Kim Hawkins Jr., is open to all candidates. There are seven confirmed candidates attending, including Shaun Scott, Emily Myers, Joshua Newman, Alex Pedersen, Cathy Tuttle, Ethan Hunter, Beth Mountsier. The public is invited to submit questions for the candidates in advance by emailing , or questions can be submitted in writing at the event. “We welcome this opportunity to connect voters with the wide array of candidates running in District 3,” says Scott Alspach, Chair of the 43rd District Democrats “With so many candidates running for an open seat, it is important to hear them all at once and compare their ideas for solving the pressing issues affecting our district and the city as a whole.”
This forum is also one of the last chances for 43rd members to ask candidates questions before the 43rd District Democrats endorsements meeting on June 18th at Kane Hall on the University of Washington campus. Coincidentally, the forum falls on the last date for 43rd district residents to become members and have a vote at the endorsements meeting. Voters can sign up online or in person at the District 4 forum.
The 43rd District Democrats are dedicated to educating and activating voters, offering opportunities for the public to connect with candidates and elected officials, presenting forums on local issues, and promoting voter registration and get-out-the-vote activities.
