Wednesday afternoon was Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll’s turn to speak to the media during the National Football League owners meeting. With free agency nearing its end and making way for the upcoming draft Carroll had plenty of speaking points . The rumors of a pending Richard Sherman trade made Carroll’s session that much more compelling.

TAKEAWAYS
It is not likely the Seahawks will trade Richard Sherman, given the complexity of pulling off a trade in the NFL. Sherman is a Carroll guy and one of the core players that helped create the Legion Of Boom. That being said the Seahawks are also sending a message of no one player is bigger than the organization. Certain players like Sherman, Marshawn Lynch, and Kam Chancellor are given a longer leash than other. That philosophy is not unique to the Seahawks.
One player who’s leash just got shortened is backup quarterback Trevone Boykin who was arrested early Monday morning in Dallas on misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and public intoxication.
