
Walter Lee Andrews, Jr. Born November 25, 1955 in Louisville, KY to Mary (Graham) (Rhodes) and Walter Lee Andrews, Sr. Passed May 3, 2017 at age 61. Walter lived in Louisville until his graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1973. He attended Eastern Kentucky University until his enlistment into the U.S. Army in 1976. While stationed at Fort Lewis, WA he met and married Donna (Baker). They shared a devoted bond for 36 years and raised 2 sons. He made his careen in broadcasting and media consultation. After his discharge from the Army in 1984, Walter worked at KCPQ TV, Weyerhaeuser, University of Puget Sound and the University of WA. Walter was dedicated to his family, both in WA and KY. He loved life and graced many with his wit, humor and undeniable, boisterous laughter. He was also an avid fan of most sports. In addition to coaching youth football and basketball and commissioning fantasy leagues, he was a passionate Seattle Seahawks “12th Man.” Walter was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Graham) Rhodes; father, Walter Andrews, Sr.; stepfather, Charles Rhodes; daughter, Andria La’Niece; and sister, L’Tanya (Andrews) Helm (Darryl). Mourning his departure, yet thankful for many years of beautiful memories are his wife, Donna (Baker) Andrews; two sons, Sean Hughes-Andrews (Patricia) and Aaron Andrews of WA; six grandchildren, Cameron, Ta’Taneshia (Ben), Kiaya, Davonte’, Bella and De’sean; three great-grandchildren; sister, Rhonda (Rhodes) Jeffers of Wash. DC; Charles Rhodes (Dalphanie) of Louisville, KY; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
